GCC Peak Performers Tour 2019

The Greeley Children’s Chorale Peak Performers will be going on tour in May and will make a special stop in Fort Morgan. They will perform Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at the United Presbyterian Church at 1300 East Riverview Avenue in Fort Morgan, CO.
The Greeley Children’s Chorale (GCC) is a community choir for students in grades 3-8 where children gain valuable musical skills. GCC is made up of children from Weld County and the outlying area. The Greeley Children’s Chorale features three groups of performers. Valley Voices, the newest group, is an unauditioned choir that features children from 2nd – 4th grades and is ideal for children interested in music. Summit Singers in comprised of 3rd – 6th graders and is an auditioned group that performs at three concerts throughout the year. The Peak Performers is comprised of 5th – 8th graders. In addition to at least three concerts per year, Peak Performers go on tour each summer to give the children an opportunity to experience performing in various settings. Elizabeth Gross, a Fort Morgan Middle School student, is finishing up her third year in GCC.
The concert is entitled “Returning Home” because the concert will feature several “Fort Morganites,” including GCC Director Kris (Hanna) Pierce. Mrs. Pierce is a Fort Morgan native and has been a GCC director for 24 years. Special Guest, the Golden Souls, will also be performing. The Golden Souls members include: Jeff Everett, Lance Rogers and Bob Walter. Everett, Rogers and Walters are Fort Morgan High School Alumni. Nathan Howe, an alumni of GCC and former music teacher in the RE-3 School district wrote “Every Child of God,” specifically for GCC. This piece will be performed during the concert.
